A NOVEL FLC AND MPC BASED HYBRID ENERGY STORAGE
BESS, or Battery Energy Storage System, is a workable remedy for renewable energy uncertainty as battery technology advances. BESS deterioration is a crucial element in BESS operations, often
• The MPC is able to regulate the system node voltages well within the allowable ANSI's low-voltage distribution grid voltage range 0.95 to 1.05 pu. With under-forecasted (forecast < actual) renewable (wind + solar) case the MPC does not utilize all the available fuel of the MT and the stored energy in the ES.
2.2. MPC for solving the power flow problem MPC uses a prediction model of the microgrid to forecast its behavior over a specified time horizon. By considering future energy demand, generation, and SUs states, MPC can anticipate and account for SUs dynamics in the active and reactive power dispatch decisions.
During the over-forecasted (forecast > actual) renewable case, the MPC uses all the available fuel of the MT (remaining energy = 0kWh at t=6:00) and stored energy of the ES (min SOC = 20% = 160kWh at t=6:00).
In Figure 2, the MPC-DE energy management strategy minimizes the power loss and keeps the DC bus voltage stable simultaneously according to the real-time DC bus voltage Vbus, the bus current ibus and lithium-ion battery voltage Vbat and battery current ibat through regulates the iref.
