The Ministry of Energy is committed to encourage the implementation of charging stations for electric cars. In this context, the Ministry has launched in 2018 calls for proposal in order to support the implementation of charging stations for electric vehicles.
In 2018, the Ministry of Energy launched four calls for proposal for assistance to fund the construction of charging stations for electric vehicles, with the aim of installing at least 2,500 charging stations by the end of 2020 throughout the country.

There are two types of charging stations, AC and DC, which differ mainly in the amount of power they can provide. DC (direct-current) charging station are able to charge the electric vehicle faster - 100 km of driving in 7-20 minutes, depending on the speed of the charger and the compatibility of the vehicle.
