The report also notes that internet penetration in developing countries has climbed by more than 13 percent since 2019, which makes it reasonable to assume that developing countries are becoming a dominant force in building telecommunications infrastructure in recent years.
First, most attention is concerned with the impact of telecommunications infrastructure on entrepreneurship in developed countries or comparative analysis based on cross-country data, while little is known about this effect in developing countries.
The rational construction of telecommunications infrastructure is an emerging driving force for developing countries to seize the opportunities created by the digital economy, promote entrepreneurship, and even achieve rapid economic recovery and leapfrogging.
The results show that telecommunications infrastructure significantly promotes entrepreneurship in China, but there is a time lag effect. The positive impact of telecommunications infrastructure on entrepreneurship is more pronounced in the midwestern regions, small-medium scales, and cities with underdeveloped traditional infrastructure.
