The updated Aito M9 full-size SUV from Seres and Huawei was launched in China with four LiDARs and a starting price
Co developed by Huawei and Seres as an extended range electric SUV with both EREV and pure BEV choices to suit different charging realities. Base EREV Pro plus 5 seat 4WD trim launches with a starting tag near US$ 39490 (34040 EUR, 29973 GBP), carving out an attainable path into the premium new energy vehicle tier.
While Huawei does not manufacture power batteries, it has shown increasing interest in upstream battery materials. Earlier in 2025, the company filed a separate patent on the synthesis of sulfide electrolytes — a key material known for its high conductivity but also high cost, sometimes exceeding the price of gold.
Huawei's design aims to boost safety and cycle life by mitigating degradation at this critical junction. Huawei's involvement in solid-state battery research reflects a broader trend among Chinese technology and automotive companies.
